The Greater New Orleans Biosciences Economic Development District (GNOBEDD) is a physical economic development district charged with growing biosciences investment.
The New Orleans Regional Biosciences Initiative (NORBI) is the action arm of GNOBEDD, a collaborative of a myriad of public and private entities all working to ensure that bioscience and healthcare sectors combined are a well-promoted and well supported pillar of the New Orleans economy.
NORBI Creates a highly collaborative environment that actively coordinates and manages key agencies--public, private, academic and philanthropic--focused on biosciences development throughout the New Orleans region. Though each entity has a distinct role, the umbrella structure of NORBI encourages interaction between multiple public/private organizations which helps further a culture of collaboration.
A board of directors is responsible for the strategic planning, continued funding, and marketing of the medical district. The board ensures that ongoing collaborative efforts are supported including the development and management of the physical biosciences district.
